Going down the memory lane of my sporting career gives me a great pleasure. At the age of six, I began my Rugby journey at ‘Agoal’ Rugby Academy. Since day one, I’ve been enamored with this incredible sport. I was the captain of the ‘Agoal’ Rugby team in 2011 which emerged the Cup Championship at Bangkok International Rugby tournament held in Thailand.

My passion for rugby led me to play for my school; Royal College, Colombo 07 which is one of the most prestigious schools in Sri Lanka. Since my childhood, I’ve had the privilege of playing for my college and captaining the team in various tournaments. Royal College is the first school team in Sri Lanka to win 3 league titles back-to-back at All-Island Rugby Championship in the 21st century. During this period of time, I was fortunate enough to become the Best Player in multiple games and was awarded with school Rugby Colours. I also got the opportunity to participate for Rugby Tours in Malaysia and Singapore. Furthermore, Sri Lanka’s renowned sports channel @thepapare , nominated me for the under-19 rugby dream team of Sri Lanka.

I was also a member of the Athletic Team and Football Team of Royal College. I have represented the college for these two lovely sports and won at national level.

I always try to give my best in everything I engage. I enjoy being surrounded by people who have the same passion and I believe that it drives us forward to reach our objectives. I’m excited to become a part of the university sports teams and looking forward to bring glory to the university.

I would like to end this with one of my favourite quotes by the finest Rugby player Richie McCaw. “I don’t believe in magic, I believe in hard work.” It always inspires me to put in greater effort in order to achieve my goals.
