Maison Dandoy

edit

Maison Dandoy is the oldest biscuit shop of Brussels[1]. The seventh generation of the same family[2] is currently running the shop founded in 1829.

The mother company is located rue au Beurre near the Grand Place of Brussels.

History

edit

Jean-Baptiste Dandoy[3] opened the biscuit shop in 1829[4]. In 1905, a company was created to profit from the bakery leftovers. The business name and the logo were registered in 1907. The S.A. (corporation) was formed in 1990.

Besides the mother company located rue au Beurre in Brussels, 9 branches exist in Belgium[5], 7 in the Brussels-Capital Region, 1 in Antwerp and 1 in Waterloo, Belgium. The Tokyo branch opened in 2012[6]. The company also owns a store in Paris.

It has been granted the title of Purveyor to the Court of Belgium (Royal warrant of appointment)[7].
