Engines

edit

The standard model comes with an 1.3 L (1,248 cm3 (76.2 cu in)) Multijet 4-cylinder turbodiesel with variable geometry turbocharger and high-pressure direct injection system. An optional engine choice is a 1.6-liter (1,598 cm3 (97.5 cu in)) I4 petrol/gasoline engine from Hyundai with continuous variable valve timing. As gasoline became more expensive in Turkey, the gasoline engine includes a cylinder deactivation, turning the engine into an 799 cm3 (48.8 cu in) 2-cylinder.

Transmissions

edit

The standard transmission available is a 9-speed FCA/ZF automatic. Optional transmission is a 6-speed Easytronic semi-automatic from Adam Opel AG, only offered with the Hyundai engine. There are no manual transmissions that offered.

The television commercial for Blizzard Iconia involved a young Turkish man, who saw the Blizzard Iconia in a magazine and then goes about damaging an 1967 Anadol A1 (including a backhoe loader crushes the front of the car), then spending the night welding it. The following day the car emerges as the replica of the Blizzard Iconia. The man then takes his replica driving with friends. The commercial is inspired by the 2002/03 Peugeot 206 commercial "The Sculptor".

Design

edit

The Blizzard Iconia is designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. The design includes a 5-seat configuration, LCD gauges and skull-knob gear-shift lever. The Iconia is inspired by aviation.
