King C Bharati alias King Chiranjivi Pandit is a senior journalist from Jammu and Kashmir state presently working as Executive Editor of an English daily newspaper The Shadow.
Born on April 10, 1970, King C Bharati started his education from primary school of his native village Kakran in Tehsil Kulgam (now a district)district Anantnag in Kashmir Valley in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India (Bharat).
King C Bharati is the son of renowned educationist, linguist, wroiter, translator and journalist Late Sh R K Bharati alias Ram Krishan Pandit and Oma Bharati but was adopted by his uncle Late Sh Shamboo Nath Pandit in his early childhood thus changing his parentage to Shamboo Nath.
Shamboo Nath was the elder brother of King C Bharati's biological father RK Bharati and was a deaf and dumb person and was not married. However Shamboo Nath was a genius and despite being a deaf and dumb from a tiny village was a renowned Hakeem (Local doctor dealing in Ayurvedic and Unani medicines) having a flourishing shop of ancient/traditional medicines.
King C Bharati got his education from various schools in Kashmir Valley viz Shopian, Kulgam and Mirhama before shifting to Jammu in 1980 where he studied at New Shashtri Memorial High School (Now Higher Secondary School), Government Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar, Government Gandhi Memorial Science College, Maulana Abul Kalam Memorial College and later University of Jammu English department.
King C Bharati has also done a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Bharatiya Vidhya Bhawan through its Jammu branch run by the renowned journalist Balraj Puri and got Third Position in J&K.
King C Bharati started his foray in journalism at a very tender age of 13 by writing for Children's column for Srinagar Times and has never looked back since then.
King C Bharati has been writing for Newspapers, Magazines and journals besides beign a Radio Talker and commentator.
It was in 1991 at the age of 21 that King C Bharti launched his own weekly newspaper The Gypsy and has been instrumental in launching many newspapers since then making him the only all rounder of the newspaper industry in Jammu and Kashmir.
