Black Rat are an English Folk/ Rock Band formed in the Autumn of 2002 in Leicestershire, United Kingdom. The Band was active at national festivals across the south of England for over ten years and produced three studio albums during this period. The initial line-up consisted of six members;
Rick Cox - kit drums & percussion; Steve Knifton - guitars & mandolin; Liz Hextall - flute & recorders; Tony Haggis - bass guitar; John English - electric guitar; Steve Hamilton - lead vocals & mandolin;
This line-up recorded an EP (insert name) which contained the 8 minute track "The Longbow" (Kinfton) as well as some traditional songs and instrumentals.
