My 31st Demerit (abbreviated as MTD) is a rock band from Chittagong, Bangladesh.
Formation
editInfluenced by Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pink floyd and Alterbridge; My 31st Demerit was formed in 2007 when some students of William Carey Academy Chittagong decided to raise their passion for music and give it a professional stature. The band bears an unique characteristic through their endeavor to emphasize the base of rock. They attempt to express their rebellion against the recent trend of forgetting the root and tries to reintroduce Classic Rock to the music lovers. My 31st demerit got ample support from Rafa of Aurthohin, Blunderware's Shanto (who is also the band's manager) and Mechanix's Tridib since its inception.
Journey
editThe band released its first single, Char Deyal in 2010 through a mixed band album named Rock 404 which also featured popular Bangladeshi bands like Cryptic Fate, Mechanix etc. Char Deyal was the band's elegy for Sahim Rashid, the founder member of the band who perished in 2009. The band is expected to release another single in the album Aashor along with a number of heavy tracks in the making.
