Patrick konji kumwenda [2] (born February 23, 2000) is an Zambian Rugby player centerback for the Lions Rugby Club of the Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU). He initially played college rugby at University of Zambia. In his high school, he led his team to district division when he was playing scrum half, he's play was good in multiple categories including passing yards and total try (13). He was selected 3rd overall by chongwe vipers in the 2015 ZRU Draft, 1st in 2016 and 2017 draft

He was named the starter in 2015 after kodwani faced a severe injury. That season, kumwenda threw for 5,097 yards, 13 tries, and 36 interceptions. He became unstoppable in a single season in both high school rugby.[3] For his performance in his first season as starter, he was named to the Pro baller, named First Team All-Pro, and won the Offensive Player of the Year and chongwe vipers Most Valuable Player awards. Kumwenda was one of three chongwe vipers backs selected to represent Lusaka county in solwezi in 2017.[a][4]

During the 2019–20 playoffs, kumwenda led the pack to semi finals.
