Poly strike ends
editThe striking vibe in southern Africa has affected almost every employee receiving a minimum wage or salary working in companies located in the area.
The recently striking happened among employees working in an institute of tertiary called Polytechnic of Namibia [1]which is located in the center of Windhoek, Namibia. This came after they (employee) did not receive an annual salary increase of 10% [2].
Fortunately, the strike ended before anything serious could happen when the Namibia Public Workers Union[3] and the Polytechnic of Namibia reached a pay agreement . According to this agreement the staff will receive a 10% salary increase across the board, as well as 30% on the basic rate of housing allowances[4].
