Christian Storm
editChristian Storm (Born 1974, Grimsby, UK) is a British dancer, choreographer and creative director credited as being one of the key movers of choreography into a ‘new school’ of performance in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Training and Early Career
editChristian trained in all disciplines of dance from Ballet Jazz Contemporary Tap to Commercial Dance at the renowned Laine Theatre Arts on both the dance and the Musical Theatre Course. On graduating from college, Christian played the Lead role of Mungojerry in the CATS the Musical on both the UK Tour and also in the London West End at the New London Theatre 1992.
Creative Director and Producer
editChristian is credited with the production and direction of numerous creative and commercial pieces. He was first approached in his first year of choreographing by Clothes Show Live 2007 where he devised all the concepts to sit alongside his choreographic work within; the fashion show had the behaviour of a pop Arena Tour performing to over 30,000 people a day, featuring leading brands such as DKNY Ben Sherman Vivienne Westwood and All Saints. Christian was the Creative Director and Choreographer for Leading Retail Brand Esprit[1] for their Global Fashion Summer Party in 2010 featuring supermodel Toni Gaarn and Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity. This led to Christian and his team to produce the complete 360 global Marketing Campaign entitled BIG BANG for Esprit the following year. To celebrate the opening of the SOS Children's Village Alibaug, a village completely financed by Esprit, the Big Bang concept was born. A global campaign aimed to raise awareness of the charity project and to encourage people to go in store and 'make their bang count' was the brainchild of Mass Movement. A Ceremony at the SOS Children's Village in Alibaug saw Hollywood A-Listers Maggie Gyllenhal and Peter Sarsgaard open this incredible village that Esprit had built.
Other notable productions and clients have included Jockey, Absolut Vodka, V Festival and the G4 UK Tour.
Choreographer
editChristian has been involved in a number of productions in the role of choreographer, notably for the 2012 FA CUP Final[2], Wembley Stadium on Saturday 5th May 2012 between Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC, Beverley Knight[3], Beady Eye[4], Jamiroquai[5], Shaznay Lewis[6] and Jamelia[7]. He has also been involved in television commercials including a NEXT[8] commercial featuring dancers and a routine.
Dancer
editChristian has danced for a number of notable entertainers such as the All Saints[9] Tour (produced by Phil Griffin and choreographed by Paul Roberts), the Eternal UK European & South East Asia Tour (produced and choreographed by Kim Gavin), the Holly Valance South East Asia Tour (produced and choreographed by Luca Tommassani), Pepe Jeans European Tour (choreographed by Susan Heyes), the Spice Girls World Tour[10] and the Steps UK Tour (produced and choreographed by Paul Domaine). Christian performed on the Adidas[11] twice yearly Global Fashion Shows back to back for over 12 years from 1992 – 2007 which featured the likes of David Beckham, Pele, Missy Elliot, Zinedine Zidane, Martina Hingis, Franz Beckenbauer, Muhammed Ali, Prince Naseem and many more.
Pop Videos and Promo Work
editPop videos and promo work included Dancer for the Black Eyed Peas for their Brit Awards performance of "Shut UP" in 2003, Destiny’s Child at the Brit Awards performing "Independent woman" in 2001, dancer for All Saints performing Lady Marmalade in 1998 and at the MTV Music Awards in 2000. Additional dance work has included names such as Atomic Kitten, Billie Piper, Bewitched, Blue, Charlotte Church, Cher, Danni Minogue, Diana Ross and more.
Current Work
editChristian is the co-founder and creative director for Mass Movement, a live event production company and talent agency that focuses on recruiting talent from a range of different dance disciplines and production specialties. The agency is involved with a number of high-profile entertainers and shows and continues to impact the UK dance industry as a whole.
