Agroecological Engineering
Agroecological Engineering is an emerging sub-discipline of engineering in general. Yan and Zhang, coined the term in academic circles in their 1993 paper in Ecological Engineering [4] and Vanloqueren and Baret also make use of the term in their 2009 paper in Research Policy [3].
Agroecological Engineering is the application of engineering principles to facilitate the study or exploitation of ecological processes within the agricultural domain. Rather than simply harness human ingenuity alone, the concept is to include natural ecological process in the toolkit of the engineer to present a fuller set of processes to ply.
