'Quarantine Cat Film Festival is a cat compilation film[1] set for release on virtual cinema on June 19, 2020.
The film was designed to help raise money for small movie theaters, who closed during the 2020 Coronavirus Outbreak. Theaters enlisted to show the film through virtual cinema receive around 50% of the proceeds from ticket sales, helping them raise money to stay open. [2]
The film was created by Brian Mendelssohn, owner of Row House Cinema, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mendelssohn's wife got the idea for the film while watching their own cats play. [3]
More than 1,200 cat owners submitted videos that Mendelssohn used to compile the film, and more than 60 theaters signed up to screen the film to their fans home through virtual cinema. [4]
