Cincinnati chili - Dinner tonight. I might eventually open up a food subpage, but Wikipedia is not really a recipe book. Labombarde (talk) 03:18, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Hyksos - I've spent a fair amount of time today trying to familiarize myself better with Wikipedia style and content guidelines, toward preparation and submission of my first independent article (i.e., beyond simply editing an existing article). In reviewing the notability guidelines, I was reminded of a somewhat notorious research paper I did for 7th grade: Hyksos. Back then, I had only the library to work with, no internet, no wikipedia. And no book in our local libraries had more than a sentence or two on the topic. Yet I created a research report with several dozen strong references and wove those together into a credible paper. Interesting to see that I won't have to do that for the Hyksos again here at Wikipedia, at least not from scratch. Labombarde (talk) 21:38, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
Delope - encountered on the page for Joseph Howe. I've always been intrigued how there are words that exist for some of the oddest things, gestures, or anything else that can be tagged. I suppose this one would not have seemed so odd back in the day. But there would be probably be more than one modern parallel that might benefit from resurrecting this word.
