Bio
editAbout me
editI am a senior at Mariner High School along with participating in a program called, running start at Everett Community College. My hobbies include playing the clarinet and tennis. People who play tennis a few times a week, are less likely to die from heart disease or a stroke.[1] I also participate in the marching band at Mariner High School and have a leadership position within the band community.
My Wikipedia interests
editIf I continue creating content on Wikipedia in the future, I will most likely be adding additional information to Wikipedia pages or creating pages.
Article Evaluation
editI grew up playing video games, one particular game I grew up playing was Roblox. I know how the community is like and the different types of games on the website. I am interested to see what the development process of Roblox was. I visited the Roblox page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of its worth commenting on: its lack of mentioning early events, coding language used, and the articles used for citations.
Early events
editI've noticed that the Roblox page mentions events that are done currently like Bloxcon or the yearly egg hunt. However, the article fails to mention that in the early years of the development of Roblox, they would hold holiday events. These holidays are usually, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and New Years. Surprisingly, they don't mention these events at all.
Coding Language
editThe Wikipedia mentions the programming language used to develop games but does not mention the programming language for the website. Creating a website involves code as well, so it is quite strange that it is not mentioned.
Citations
editThe citations used for the page is all fairly recent, but the majority of it is articles saying Roblox achieved an award. There are a few from Roblox's blog that gives information like when it was first developed but the majority of the citations were awards given to the corporation or just articles about Roblox in general.
Summary
editOverall, I'd rate this page as "pretty good". The information given on the page is quite relevant to the game itself, but the page information about the earlier times of Roblox seems to not be very apparent as well as the coding languages used. Also, the citations are fairly up to date but are lacking reliable sources, most of which seems like useless information.
