In order to use it properly, "rank" (the first optional paramater) -> <nowiki>

must be replaced with the particular rank of black belt the user is. The ranks are first-dan, second-dan, etc. A third-dan black belt would be considered superior in rank to a second-dan blackbelt, and so on.
