New article name goes here new article content ...GEOFF CARNE (British Singer/Songwriter) (Born 27th of May 1963) Originally born in Poynton,Cheshire moved to Blackpool aged 7 then to Carlisle at age 10.Geoff took guitar lessons at 15 yrs with local bluesman Olly Alcock (Known for his band with John Waite & England).Learning his musical trade on the local Cumbrian pub and working mens' club circuit with 'Index' and his own outfit 'Tel Aviv' and then concentrated on writing original material.
By the summer of 1987 Geoff armed with an independent pop/rock single 'Stand Up' recorded at Guy Forrester's Linden Sounds (http://www.lindenstudio.co.uk/) appeared on the local news station Border TV and moved to the Capitol London.A second single 'London Life' in 1988 again recorded at Linden Sounds gained indie acclaim and plays on John Peel's BBC Radio One Show with its indie/rock style.
Having gone as far as he could with the two singles joined West London rock band 'Dream State City' in December of 1988 through to 1992 until departing and then for next couple of years fighting off a strain of glandular fever.Geoff came back in 1994 playing on the English Acoustic circuit along with his self-promo CD featuring a cover of the Otis Redding classic 'Dock Of The Bay'.Working with producer Paul Mex (http://www.mexonerecordings.co.uk/) from 1996 onwards his rock work then moved to the underground dance scene with the two releasing material under the 'Saved By Zero' project (http://www.sbz.mexonerecordings.co.uk/).
While the dance scene started to subside Geoff started return to his Rock/Blues roots and his early influences of the likes of Free/Bad Company,Whitesnake and Rod Stewart and the Faces and produced a solo album called 'One to One' in 2014.To create a live act Geoff found his drummer Mick Hatz from the 'Dream State City' band he'd played in by a chance posting on youtube of group and formed 'Geoff Carne & the Hatz'.They made the 'Get Close' Album released in 2016 and more recently the '4 Play E.P.' released in March 2018.
