James R. Marsh
James R. Marsh is an American attorney and children's rights advocate who is best known for representing victims of child pornography and online exploitation. He was born in Jackson, Michigan on June 6, 1965 to a sixteen year old unwed mother, Linda Walton of Coloma, Michigan, who resided at the Florence Crittenton home in Jackson, Michigan prior to his birth. After spending three months in foster care with the Michigan Children's Aid Society, James was adopted by his parents of Buchanan, Michigan.
James graduated from Buchanan High School in Buchanan, Michigan in 1983 and attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he graduated in 1987 cum laude and with distinction. He immediately attended the University of Michigan Law School and eventually became a fellow with the University of Michigan's Interdisciplinary Training Program on Child Abuse and Neglect. During law school, James also participated in the Michigan Child Advocacy Law Clinic and spent a summer working for New York Lawyers for the Public Interest in New York City. He graduated in 1990.
