Who's this guy?

edit

Hi! I'm LemonSmints: nerd; snarkmeister; Seattleite; enthusiastic reader, supporter, and occasional editor of English Wikipedia.

Spending long hours joyfully leaping down rabbit holes is one of my oldest and most cherished ways to spend my free time. I have learned a tremendous amount from this place over the years, registering for an account way back in 2006, and consider it a treasured resource and one of the most important websites on the Internet. Though primarily a consumer of existing content, I occasionally make edits, mostly to correct minor mistakes in spelling, grammar, and syntax.

I have tremendous respect for the principles, history, and collaborative spirit of this project, and often spend a great deal of my time here reading discussions and consuming talk pages in pursuit of a better understanding of Wikipedian culture and process, to best avoid wasting other editors' time with mistakes when I do chose to make edits of my own. I value all constructive feedback on—and criticism of—my edits: if I screwed up, please don't hesitate to slap me with a much-deserved WP:TROUT. You have my gratitude for the time you take to educate me on my missteps. I will do my best to repay that kindness by learning from my mistakes, and taking your advice to heart when making future edits.

But ... "LemonSmints?"

My username is the Wikipedia incarnation of one of my oldest Internet handles, going back over two decades. While I've selected different user IDs for other services since, here it lives on as a tribute to my earliest days online.

Chosen as a declaration of my then-fanatical devotion to a specific flavor of Smint which has sadly become nigh-impossible to find anymore, it also demonstrates the approximate level of creativity I had back in those days.
