Dear Leonard,
editSorry about the mistake with your name. One of the lead characters in "The Producers" (the Gene Wilder character in the 1968 film) is named Leo Bloom, and I jumped to the conclusion that you were taking off on that character. Again, sorry for the error.
Regarding your explanation of the "puff piece" thing, I think I see what you mean. I just read the link you gave me about conflicts of interest, and I certainly want to let you know up front what my connection to this article is (i.e., why I wrote it), because I admire and frequently use Wikipedia, and I don't want to break or bend any of the rules. I have a friend who is a friend (a "friend of a friend"?) of Don Nardo. I met Mr. Nardo once briefly many years ago (through the mutual friend) and have been following his career ever since, including reading many of his books, attending concerts of his music, watching films he's written, etc. Because I don't know him very well, my intent was not to promote him or his work particularly. Rather, a couple of years ago I asked the mutual friend why Mr. Nardo was not in Wikipedia, since I've seen numerous less accomplished individuals with Wikipedia articles. He did not know. So I suggested a few times that he (the friend) should write one. He never got around to it, so I decided to do it myself. As I said in an earlier post, I greatly admire his work, so probably that is why the article portrays him in a very positive light. I will most gladly step aside and let someone else handle the article is you feel this disqualifies me. Or if you feel that the article, as it stands, should be deleted because it does meet the correct standards, I will also completely understand. There will be no hard feelings. I will leave the article alone until you get back to me. Thanks again for all your help. Best, Ed. --Edthehistroybuff (talk) 22:10, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Progress
editI don't know, I added the 'WikiSloth' template to my user page because my interest seems to wax and wane. For whatever reason I just don't seem to feel much motivation to work on Sheppard lately. I'm also not sure how to organise it since his 'other activities' intertwine with the atrocities part.
Maybe I need to take a look at that other book (or even King Leopold's Ghost) and stop trying to imitate the narrative structure of the Kennedy biography, which is a bad habit I got into when I was working on Ota Benga.
On the positive side I nominated Ostend Manifesto (with considerable expansion!) for GA in case you didn't see that. And I reverted it to the non-harvard style because it was just too much trouble. I've also been looking at Pickelhaube for whatever reason. Need something that can grab my attention and utterly absorb me the way the Chinese characters did. - Which bot is that, btw (if it's publicly available)? That would be useful. Recognizance (talk) 02:28, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, I can't believe I'd never heard of this. I love it. Also, I'm still pondering the subject matter. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. :P Also, do you have Skype? My name is the same there as on here if so. I don't use it for voice chat much, but it's nice for keeping in contact. Recognizance (talk) 05:10, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- There is one rather annoying part I forgot to consider. You get alerted when you edit your own articles. Other than that, I love it. Recognizance (talk) 07:17, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

- I have actually but I never understood it or actually tried for it. Why you got an idea :P? mÆniac Ask! 17:22, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well, it's totally up to you, but WP:ADOPT is a program for "new and inexperienced" users to receive a mentor of sorts. I've seen you around a couple times, and you're fairly new (as far as I can tell). Although I'm not involved in the program, I'm really just curious if you'd be interested in finding someone who'd mentor you in the finer arts of being a wikipedian. :P Note: I'm not necessarily volunteering myself, but I'd have no objections. I just have no experience with the Adoption Program. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 03:03, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I would have no idea how to go about it. As I said, I have no experience with adoption, so howsa' 'bout this: without anything formal, we just informally say that you can contact me anytime for help, and I'll "watch over you" as a "mentor" until I "graduate you". That doesn't sound so bad. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 20:42, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi Leonard, I have removed the speedy deletion tag placed by you on this article. Please see my edit summaries for a rationale. If you have further questions / comments do not hesitate to contact me. decltype (talk) 05:51, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion contested: Qari Mohammad Ibrahim Mir Mohammadi
editHello Leonard^Bloom, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I contested the speedy deletion of Qari Mohammad Ibrahim Mir Mohammadi - a page you tagged - because: The article makes a credible assertion of notability, sufficient to pass A7. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. NW (Talk) 22:04, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

editThank you for your comment but i was actually clearing the page so i could make it. Sorry if I caused a problem. Bernette
- No, it's not a problem. Could you explain how the redirect could form a full article though? They look to be the same place, thus the redirect. Also, please sign your signature with the four tildes (~x4). Thanks. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 00:12, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
I've made a full a article for the area due to the fact that Michael herc has posted false information on this page. Ive researched my facts fully and have cited all my quoats and infromation with my article. Thank you for being so kind! ````Bernette
- By "this page" do you mean Deford, Michigan? If so, then why not just remove the false information (though, you may want to double check whether it's false or not) and add the new/correct information with references?
- Also, by signing your posts, I mean adding just the four tildes.

The page would need to be fully deleted because I will face a problem from the current Editor Michael herc. He will keep posting lies or Half-Truths about the area. thanks you for all your help. very thankful Bernette 00:38, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- I see I don't need to place talkbacks on your talk page; okeedokee.
- If there is a problem with edit warring (where one or more editors changes the information back and forth) then I suggest you read over WP:3RR, a relevant policy, and if necessary post a report at WP:AN3, a relevant notice board. Deleting the page is not necessary; add your information, and make sure it is cited properly and effectively. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 00:56, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
I too have noticed that Michael herc has been using another screen name. thank you for all your help!
thanks for all your help. i noticed that the person i mentionedMichael herc
- It's not a problem; I'm here to help, and I hope Wikipedia is a positive experience for you, as an editor and a reader. My only qualm is this: please, please, please sign your posts with the four tildes. For a project that relies on communication, teamwork, and consensus, who said what is a very important thing to know. Thanks for being open-minded, and happy editing. Thanks for making the report. I've ammended my comments on the SPI so that they'll hopefully be more clear. about your message
editi understand your concern, but this is a legitimate song, that deserves a legitamite article Zobango (talk) 21:36, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- If the song is indeed notable, then providing proof of this notability through reliable sources would be the course of action. If you wish to contest the prod, then you can tell me so, and I will most likely take the article to WP:AFD. However, as I said, WP:N and WP:RS would be a better course of action. Thanks and happy editing. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 21:40, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

List of skin-related conditions nominated as featured list candidate
editI have continued to work on the list of skin-related conditions, and recently nominated it for FL status. If available, your comments would be greatly appreciated at the nomination page. Regardless, thank you again for your work on wikipedia. ---kilbad (talk) 17:09, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
I am curious why you added back copyrighted material to the article. What am I missing? ttonyb1 (talk) 01:27, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- You aren't missing anything. I reverted the edit before it was tagged with a CSD for copyvio. I didn't know, becuase it wasn't up. Actually, I didn't see it until just after I finished changing all the section headers per WP:MOS. Thanks. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 01:30, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- The CSD was not on the site until after you undid my edit. The edit summary I left specifically stated the material was removed for copyrighted violations and listed the URL. ttonyb1 (talk) 01:34, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hm. Looking at the history, I think I see what happened. I formatted the article, then added some tags. Next time I saw the article, it had a lot less text. I check the history, and see that you had reverted an edit. The edit you reverted then replaced the tags, but rm'd a lot of text. I thought that the original creator had added text, and removed the tags in a single edit. I assumed (which is a bad habit; we all know what that does) that you had reverted the edits to replace the tags, but accidentally removed the text at the same time. The rest is pretty straight-forward, I think. I'm sorry for the inconvience. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 01:43, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey, you tagged the article under vandalism, which is valid, but the right criteria is G10. It blanks the page since it is a legal threat. ZooFari 21:18, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Altered Speedy Deletion rationale: Charles Hong
editHello Leonard^Bloom, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I have deleted a page you tagged (Charles Hong) under a different criteria, because the one you provided was inappropriate or incorrect. CSD criteria are narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct deletion rationale is supplied. Consider reviewing the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any queries, please let me know. Thanks again! decltype (talk) 14:19, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- To put it in my own words: The page's only purpose was to disparage Charles. The creator should therefore be duly warned, and not merely given the "non-notable" warning. decltype (talk) 14:24, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the notice, and I'm glad you clarified. I would of had to of asked for clarification, as you history for the page exists anymore (and I can't remember tags I tagged things with). If I recall, it just looked like a classic "Hi, I'm so and so, I go to ____ and I'm wonderful", except for one comment saying he was gay. Would this classify as an attack page, especially when the subject is non-notable? Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 15:38, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi, after some research I managed to find quite a number of sources of which the main subject is Kim Sears. So after bring the article up to scratch (I agree that we shouldn't have kept it as it was before), I've removed the speedy deletion template. As I believe she meets both WP:CSD#A7 and WP:BIO, hopefully you'll agree with me, but if not feel free to AfD (don't bother with a prod). Thanks for your work in WP:NPP, I often see you around, and your work is very good - Kingpin13 (talk) 20:52, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Hello
editI need help to accomplish a page for the band "Vogue In The Movement". You could search them down and write in valid information and data. They are a significant band and will gain more fame as time goes on. Thanks for your time, I understand if this is'nt possible; However, this may be regreted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pacquiao (talk • contribs) 00:08, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but by Wikipedia's relevant notability guidelines, Vouge in the Movement does not warrant an article. It looks near impossible to assert any notability through reliable sources. I see nothing of use on Google; neutral, third party sources to assert the notability seem to be non-existent. If you can, by all means prove me wrong. If they deserve an article because they are indeed notable, then the sources would show for it. They sound good, I'll give them that. Thanks for understanding, Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 00:16, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Volga-937-1.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Volga-937-1.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 09:48, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Your RFA
editIn your rfa you stated:
A very specific interest of mine is in the requests for renamed media, an area I dare say I've found myself stricken with a need to help there. It's a niche, and I wish to fill it. New image patrol is also an interest, but something I've only recently gotten into and lack a large amount of experience in.
It appears that less than 1% of your edits are to the File namespace. If you pass your RFA, I suggest you get more experience dealing with files before deleting any.--Rockfang (talk) 17:41, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
