Ebony McKinney Ebony Uhura McKinney was an arts organizer, advocate and funder who shaped national thinking on innovation and leadership in the arts, often centering the value that leaders of diverse race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status bring to the sector. In 2008, McKinney founded Emerging Arts Professionals / SF Bay Area with composer Adam Fong, and was widely known for her ability to connect young professionals with opportunities and prepare them for successful careers. In 2014 she co-founded Arts for a Better Bay Area, building consensus among artists and arts organizations to secure a significant ongoing increase to San Francisco's Cultural Equity grants. She died on July 29, 2017 at age 41. ...
