LibertarianCFO is J.E. (Jim) McIntosh, Treasurer of the Ontario Libertarian Party. He was elected to this position in 1993 and took over from Roma Kelembet.
Jim went to public school in east-end Toronto and high school in Scarborough. He graduated from Engineering Physics at University of Toronto in 1962 and worked at IBM for 30 years. He worked for another 10 years in information technology on a variety of contracts.
Like many others, Jim became a libertarian while reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand in 1966. It wasn't until the 1975 general election when his (Conservative) MPP told him he sounded like the Libertarian candidate that he discovered the term and the Party. Jim ran as the Libertarian Candidate for Scarborough East in the 1981 election, and in about ten subsequent provincial and federal elections. Since about 1995 Jim determined that he could best help the Party by working as CFO for candidates (and Official Agent for Libertarian Party of Canada candidates) and has done so for the majority of provincial and federal Libertarian candidates in Ontario since then.
