Peter Lihou was born on 20th November, 1950 in Sussex, England.
His parents were both ex-RAF and demobbed at the end of World War Two. Peter has a sister Maureen but both parents are now deceased.
Peter is married with four children and currently lives on the island of Guernsey in the British Channel Islands. Parish records for the Lihou family go back to the 14th century and there is an island (connected by a causeway) of the same name off Western Guernsey. Peter's ancesters travelled widely and John Lihou discovered part of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia which, along with nearby Port Lihou are named after him. An island in Hudson Bay also bears the family name and a Captain Lihou fought with Nelson at the famous 'Battle of the Nile' as well as on other occassions with fellow Guernseyman Admiral Saumarez.
Peter's father was awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire) by the Queeen for services to charity and was well known locally for his good works. He also wrote a book about his wartime experiences as a pilot in the Italian Campaign where he flew many missions across the Alps to disrupt German supply lines along the great rivers.
In Decemeber 2008, Peter's debut novel Rachel's Shoe was published by Libros International and he has since completed a collaborative novel with eleven writers from around the world who have never met. 'Passage to Redemption' is a thriller with a strong message about climate change.
