About Me

edit

I love photography. I love capturing moments and being able to share them with others. I do any types of events and enjoy meeting new people and creating an image, that for them will be a memory. The most important control is the creative photographer’s vision.[1] I also like to bake during my free time, especially during the holidays and enjoy reading fiction books. Reading helps me clear my head and enter a new world as a character who seeks adventure.

My Wikipedia Interests

edit

My interests in Wikipedia would be to edit some photography articles and add a deeper understanding. I will also use it for some assignments that I will need to work on for my class. I hope to use this account to also get to know more fiction book authors and their bestsellers. I would to love to get to know more genres as well and explore the articles that haven’t been as popular as others.

Article Evaluation

edit

During my elementary era, I remember The Boxcar Children being my favorite series of books to read, so I was curious to find out if there was a Wikipedia page on the series, and see if it was kept up to date. So I visited The Boxcar Children article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects worth commenting on: It’s lack of citations, links not found or dead, and facts cited with unreliable/ reliable sources.

Citations

edit

A lot of the information on the page has citations, but there are some missing that I noticed. For instance, in the third paragraph it mentions that only 19 of the books were created by Gertrude Chandler Warner, but it has no citations, so we don't necessarily know if it's true or not. We have no source to make the statement true. But on the other hand, later in the article it has a wiki link which leads to all the books in the series, and has the names of the authors other than Warner.

edit

I also followed along and clicked on all the links to make sure they weren't dead or deleted. In doing so, I found a link that does not exist anymore. On the references list I found a couple: including number 1 with the word original and it's "link", and number 6 with the "Top 100 Chapter Book Poll Results". However, most of the links lead to where they got the information, including a wiki link leading to Gertrude Warner's Wikipedia page.

Sources

edit

I also found an unreliable source in the references list. Number 5's link leaded somewhere different than it stated it would, making the source unreliable. But more than half the article had their reliable sources attached, and facts confirmed.

Conclusion

edit

Although I found some issues in the article, I enjoyed reading it as the memories of the books went through my head. And although there were some dead links, missing citations and some unreliable sources, I think the article definitely got the most important information on their page, and are definitely still improving and editing it, adding movies created by the inspiration of Warner's books and keeping her legacy as the years pass by.
