Jim Ross is an American politician who currently serves as the Mayor of Arlington, Texas. He was elected to this position in June 2021. (description)
Early Life and Career
editJim Ross served in the United States Marine Corps from 1979 to 1983, before moving to Texas, where he was hired by the Arlington Police Department, serving in the department's Special Operations Unit.[1] Ross received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Dallas Baptist University in 1995, and a Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 1998.[2] He established Jim Ross Law Group, LLC, an injury and family law firm that works in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.[3] In 2017, Ross established Mercury Chop House-Arlington, a fine dining restaurant.[4]

editJim Ross was elected Mayor of Arlington, Texas on June 5, 2021, defeating Arlington City Council member Michael Glaspie, receiving 54.4% of the vote to Glaspie's 45.6% in the runoff election.
