Who is Prince Phika
Prince Phikankani kaSitheku kaMpande Zulu was born in 1878 and died in 1959. King Mpande’s son, Sitheku, was Prince Phikankani’s father. As a child Prince Phika would have grown up at his father’s large homestead at eNtembeni which was supposedly the very last “typical Zulu village”.
Prince Phika would have belonged to either uDakwaukusutha or uHayelwe-ngwenya Zulu Royal regiments, both enrolled by King Dinuzulu for men born around 1879.
Prince Phika was Imbongi as he was a praise singer who memorized and recited dynastic histories.
