This Great Society, also known as "TGS" and "The Society", is a free online monthly "by peers for peers" creative journal founded by Veronica Collins, Joel Bentley, and Jim Boraas. Journal operations have been based out of Vancouver, British Columbia since the journal's inception in August 2009.
Content regularly features "Arts," "Creative Writing," "Non-Fiction," and "Formalities" sections. Each issue offers a topical theme which published pieces reflect.
"The Society" released its first annual desktop calendar in January 2011.[1] Journal issues are released at midnight on the first of each month.
