Damyanti Biswas

Damyanti Biswas is a Singapore-based Indian author known for her riveting debut crime

novel about acid attack violence, You Beneath Your Skin, which has been called a study of

problematic relationships.

In You Beneath Your Skin, Biswas tackles issues she is passionate about – gender, violence

and poverty and has been widely quoted on the subject. The book is the fruit of her long involvement with women and children from

Project WHY (an education programme for underprivileged children) and Stop Acid Attacks

(SAA). It has also been called one of the top ten thrillers by women authors by

SheThePeople.

Early Life and Career

An alumni of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi, and Lady Brabourne

College, Kolkata, Biswas is also one of the editors of the Forge Literary magazine. Her short

fiction has been shortlisted for the Bath Flash Fiction award, and is available in various

anthologies and magazines.

Damyanti lives in Singapore with her husband, and spends most of her time reading, writing,

gardening and baking.
