My name is Lisa Seelye and I'm fairly new to this aspect of Wikipedia -- being a user, I mean. Wikipedia seems to be a fairly large place and for the new user it comes across as intimidating. (I can now see why there is a welcoming comittee!)

editMy political leanings are towards the socialist end of the spectrum.
I am a former developer on the Gentoo Linux project and have contributed to the Memcached (which is apparently being used here), and Distcc projects.
I currently reside in Leeds, England, United Kingdom although I am originally from Rochester, New York.
I do well enough with Norwegian, but reading the Norwegian Wiki is a chore because I have to look up a lot of the vocabulary.
