Lisa K. Sherrill, "Lisa", currently employed at Southern Oregon University (SOU) and is assisting with the Hospitality and Tourism Program, as well as, the Division of Business, Communication and the Environment. Ms. Sherrill works with several SOU students creating, coordinating and executing events over the academic year. In 2016, Ms. Sherrill will be guiding students who will be the event coordinators for the 11th International Terroir Congress being held in the Willamette Valley. The 2014 Congress was held in Tokaj, Hungry.
Ms. Sherrill, Born May 1969 in Crescent City, California and named Lisa K. Cochran, where she grew up in a small town working in her families restaurant. Ms. Sherrill graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York in 1989. She went to New York City right after graduation and work at Aureole Restaurant with Chef/Owner Charlie Palmer. In 1992, Ms. Sherrill moved on to the Marriott Corporation where she was an assistant Manager at Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York. She eventually transferred to San Francisco and then moved on to be Food and Beverage Manager with Red Lion in Sacramento, California.
Ms. Sherrill obtained her AA degree from College of the Redwoods and then graduated with a BA in History from SOU University in 2002. In 2014, Ms. Sherrill was awarded her Master in Management Degree from SOU where is is currently working, teaching, advising and assisting with student retention.
