I am a journalist from Manitoba. I enjoy using my writing and editing skills to contribute to this website and also help other writers improve their craft. My favourite articles to edit are entertainment ones and my favourite to write are legal ones. I specialize in biographies of judges and female lawyers as they are some people I look up to.
I was born in the United Arab Emirates to Bangladeshi parents and currently live in Canada. I was formally educated in four languages and picked up a fifth on the way, although I unfortunately no longer speak Arabic.
Writing was my first job. I was hired by the campus paper to report on arts and culture events and that’s where I caught the journalism bug. I became an editor at a paper in Winnipeg, Manitoba after university; however, COVID hit the newspaper industry hard and I found myself seeking work doing marketing for professional architecture and engineering firms. That’s what I do now.
I now live in Calgary, Alberta and edit Wikipedia time to time. Many of the Wikipedia articles I edit have some sort of meaning or significance in my life, although I’m trying to branch out to some topics I would never usually cover (like sports).
