Academic Interests
editAfter attending University of Nottingham Ningbo, China(UNNC) which has ‘unconventional educational style’ and significant differences from other Chinese universities, I began to generate a special interest in media and society. What I have learned at UNNC, which is not in concert with what I had learned before, makes me think about the role media plays in society to shape our values and opinions. I am intrigued by the power of new media which has created alternative public sphere and interact with policy making. My primary academic and research interest is the structure and functions involved in media which act as an essential public resource, especially the social functions of new media. Thus, I focus on media and politics in CCT, studying Marketing, Advertising, and Public Policy and New Media: Innovation, Community and Dissidence in this semester.
