History

edit

The InterHarmony International Music Festival was founded in 2003 by Misha Quint, a Cellist based in New York City. The inspiration for the InterHarmony International Music Festival stemmed from the established Soesterberg International Music Festival, which became part of the InterHarmony in 2006 and also founded by Misha Quint[1] The festival is currently held in Birklehof, Germany; and Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Germany and is focused on string instruments and piano. [2]The festival has also been held in San Francisco, California and The Berkshires, Massachusetts. [3][4]

The InterHarmony Music Festivals have gained renown in Germany and bring international culture and artistry to its locations. For example, The U.S. Consulate General spoke at the final concert where Misha Quint performed in 2008.[5] In 2010, Caitlin Hulcup, a soloist from Vienna Statoper, and Christa Mayer from the Bayreuther Festspiele, performed with the InterHarmony Festival Orchestra and the Forchheimer Kammerorchester, a Symphony Orchestra in Germany.[2][6] [7][8][9]
