I am an Associate Professor of Mathematics and Chemistry at a four-year university, with an academic background in mathematics, physical chemistry and solid state physics (esp. ceramics and glasses). After working in thin-film development for IBM Research, I spent several years in the industry synthesizing IR transparent materials such as optical glass and crystalline ceramics utilizing the chemistry of liquid solutions and/or Sol-gel technology.
I am well-versed in Fourier theory, and interested in its applications in describing wave motion and the spectrum of vibrational frequencies in crystalline solids.
