Darlington Family
The Darlington Family is a prominent Anglo-Irish family descended from Brendan Darlington (1752-1816). The name can probably be traced back to the country market town Darlington in County Durham, England. Brendan was an Irish businessman, who bought and consolidated a string of gold mines across County Wicklow. This lead to the creation and development of his business as a Gold Merchant across Ireland. The reputation of this endeavour grew during the 19th century as it was undertaken by his two eldest sons, Keith, born in 1778, and Aaron. Today, much of the family has migrated to the South of England.
