About me

edit

I am Marco Almada, a legal scholar whose work focuses on technology law. I recently completed a PhD in law from the European University Institute, under the supervision of Deirdre Curtin and before that, I studied law and computer science in my native country of Brazil (at the University of São Paulo and State University of Campinas, respectively).

I expect to contribute primarily to topics related to my areas of specialization (nowadays, mainly AI, cybersecurity, and European Union law). Still, I look forward to being active in editing more generally.

During September and October 2024, I am carrying out an external collaborator contract for the EUI Department of Law. This contract aims to increase the online visibility of the work done by department researchers, professors, and alumni. To that effect, it is in the department's interest that those persons have their Wikipedia pages updated and create pages for eligible persons who currently lack one.

In addition, I have collaborated closely with professors Deirdre Curtin, Nicolas Petit, and Giovanni Sartor. Any edits of mine to their pages would suffer from an additional conflict of interest unrelated to the paid contract acknowledged above.

Following Wikipedia's policy on paid editing, I agree with pursuing that aim by proposing changes through the talk page rather than through direct edits and following the Articles for Creation procedure for any new pages. Any proposals made within the scope of this contract will have the proper conflict of interest flag.
