Blue Switch Day is a holiday celebrated by Geocachers that marks the anniversary of the day that Selective Availability was turned off, and the Global Positioning System was made available to the general public.[1] The day is celebrated on May 2 annually. Prior to May 2 2000, GPS had limited accuracy to non-government personal, making activities like Geocaching impossible.[2]
