I am an architect and Professor at Syracuse University School of Architecture. I co-founded and co-lead ArchiteXX, a gender equity and architecture organization in New York City. We seek to raise the awareness of women in architecture, create support and mentoring networks and take design actions broadening the exposure of architecture out in the world. With ArchiteXX, I organized Women. Wikipedia. Design. #wikiD, an international effort to write more women architects and those involved in our built environment into wikipedia that began on March 8, 2015, International Women's Day. It will continue until there are equal numbers of women architects on wikipedia.
My books include:
- Feminist Practices: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Women in Architecture
- Contested Spaces: Abortion Clinics, Women Shelter's and Hospitals
- I am co-editor with Dr, Karen Burns on the The Bloomsbury Global Encyclopedia of Women in Architecture, 1960-2020 expected date of publication is 2024.
