OKAHAO

Okahao is a small town which is at the northern part of Namibia.It is located about 70km from Oshakati, 25km from Tsandi and 55km from Outapi.It's geographical cordinate are lat 17.8833333' and long 15.1'. It is indeed a strategically located urban center with various economic development potentials. It is in Omusati Region and a capital for Okahao constituency.It is an administrative centre of Okahao constituency. It is the second emerging town with a good competitive advantage following Outapi.

Okahao is a unique and historical place.The town was named after a traditional water container called Ehau which is a water pond. It is a centre where the Finish Missionary (ELCIN) was based first in Ongandjera traditional district.The area is flat and has arable land which is mostly used for subsistence farming.

Okahao it is one of the town which have high economic growth rate at the northern part of Namibia, because it has high quality management.It is the one which have the main national road which link most of the town together espercially Tsandi to Oshakati.The town council is now under the leadership of Mr David Uuzombala Isai who was elected as a new mayor of the town in 2009.

The town has many entertainment place and guest house for tourist like Ombupupu and The Baobao tree which are in the process to be developed.
