Wikieditor who began editing on 12 November 2006. If I disappear for days, weeks, or months at a time, I am assigned in the field for work, and don't have time/net.access/energy to do much editing. Leave a note on my talk page and I'll get back to you eventually. To be perfectly honest, I lost a lot of interest in the project after dealing with issues related to Igorberger (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). I feel that there is too much assumption of good faith when there is an obvious bad egg and that too much effort is put into rehabilitation of same. It leads to the departure of dedicated editors. I suspect I'll be around on occasion. Maybe the level of interest I had in the past will be rekindled. For now, don't expect much.

My main subjects of interest are transportation systems, from airlines and railroads to highways. I particularly appreciate that wikipedia has such rich histories of these things. People can understand why the present is what it is by learning about the past. I like our use of a neutral point of view because I think people can be free to draw their own conclusions from facts.

I also try to add minor edits to spelling and grammar in order to increase readability. I edit date references frequently. I think that too many links clutter a page. So although I link dates to allow user-specified date preferences to work, I remove links to years alone, unless the link is needed for context. Editors can be bold in updating facts when new data become available.

I am concerned about overall quality at our encyclopedia. Many articles degrade into fancruft or endless lists. I'm doing my part to improve passenger rail articles. I'm also trying to fight spam and vandalism. Although an encyclopedia full of stubs would be terrible, articles which go on for pages and pages are not useful either. Sometimes they invite linkspammers. Sometimes I'll edit for quality over quantity.

I had to do some recent-changes/new article patrolling to get my 5000th edit in on 31 December 2007, but as you can see, not much since then.
