Michael Curtis-Parsons (born 25th August 1994[1][2][note]) is a British stage and television actor from Cleethorpes, where he lives with his mother Carol, his father Steve and his brother Matthew.[3] He is a student at the Sylvia Young Theatre School[2] and represented by the associated talent agency, Sylvia Young's Young'Uns Agency.[4]
He starred as Jack in the one hour BBC docudrama That Summer Day which was broadcast on July 7, 2006 — the one-year anniversary of the bombings of the London public transport system.[4]
On November 17, 2006 Michael made his stage debut as Kurt von Trapp in the London Palladium production of The Sound of Music for which he will perform two shows a week until April 2007, with other days being covered by two other actors. He was also one of the cast members to perform Do-Re-Mi for the charity Children in Need.[2] He previously auditioned for the role of Billy Elliot, but didn't get the part.[5]
He was also one of the last 20 contestants in the British pre-selections of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.[5]
Michael is now one third of musical group GMD3, who were formed in 2010 and as of 2012 are official X Factor contestants, receiving four yes' from the judges and Gary Barlow saying they were "some of the best contestants he'd ever seen".
Personal Life
editMichael was born in Nuneaton on the 25th August 1994, to parents Carol and Steve. He has a brother, Matthew, who is three years older than Parsons. He was brought up in Nuneaton until the age of four, before moving to a family house in Cleethorpes. Parsons then went on to move to Windsor at the age of eleven in order to attend Sylvia Young Theatre School where he met Dan Ferrari-Lane and Greg West to make GMD3/District3.
