editMacadk is a longtime Macintosh Evangelista[1]. Running a small consulting and training company in Kitchener, Ontario Canada, where he provides consulting services, writes a popular technical blog, and provides related face-to-face and online training with his partner, Macadk specializes in industrial machinery safety, including risk assessment, safeguarding, functional safety, laser safety and technical standardization. Macadk is also a recognized CE Marking expert under the Machinery Directive (MD)[2], Low Voltage Directive (LVD)[3], Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)[4], Radio Equipment Directive (RED)[5], Pressure Equipment (PED)[6], Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM)[7] and Equipment for Use Outdoors[8] Directives. He also has experience in the application of WEEE[9], and RoHS[10] Directives related to industrial machinery.

- CSA C22.2 No. 301 Electrical Equipment of Machinery[13], expert member.
Macadk is currently the Vice-Chair of the CSA Z1002 Occupational health and safety - Hazard identification and elimination and risk assessment and control[14] technical committee.
Mackadk represents Canada as
- Chair of the Canadian Standard Mirror Committee to ISO/TC 199 Safety of machinery[15], SMC Chair 2015-2021, and
- Vice-Chair of the Canadian Standard Mirror Committee to ISO/TC 270 Plastics and rubber machines[16]. SMC Chair 2015-2021.
Macadk sits as an expert member of the Canadian Standard Mirror Committee to
- ISO Committee on consumer policy (COPOLCO)[17].
- ISO/PC 329 Consumer incident investigation[18].
- ISO/TC 83/WG 6[19] where he also serves as Convener Support Team to WG6, Benefit-Risk Assessment in Sport and Recreation,
- IEC/TC 65/SC 65A, Industrial-process measurement, control and automation—System aspects[20] and
- IEC/TC 121/SC 121B, Switchgear and controlgear and their assemblies for low voltage—Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies[21].
