Mailer Diablo's FAQ on Deletion
- Q : You deleted my article!
- A : How much I can do for you will depend on under what circumstances your article was deleted (see links for identification).
- If your article was speedy deleted (CSD, G1/A7), you are strongly advised against recreating it. If you strongly disagree with the deletion, you may request a deletion review by the community.
- If your article was deleted by proposed deletion (prod), you are allowed to contest its prod and have the article restored even after its 5-day expiring. Leave a message on my talkpage stating the (deleted) article's name, and the reason why you object to the prod.
- If your article was deleted by an articles for deletion (AfD) debate, it is unlikely that I will overturn a decision unless there are glaring errors. You may, however, request a full explanation on my talkpage. If you strongly disagree with the closing, you may request a deletion review by the community.
- Q : Can I recover a copy of the deleted material?
- A : Yes, provided that its content is neither defamatory, contains personal information, or/and copyright infringements. Just drop a brief note on my talkpage stating your purpose and the (deleted) article's name. Note that using this copy solely for a copy-and-paste recreation on articlespace is strictly forbidden.
- Q : What's with the P1, P2, ... codes that are on deletion summaries?
- A : Reasons for proposed deletion have been codified by me in order to speed up processing of expired nominations. They are as of follow,
- Q : Do you use a bot for deletion?
- A : No. I'm serious, all deletions are still done by hand. I'm currently assisted by two modified scripts csdhelper and CloseAFD.js to simplify the number of clicks needed.
- Q : How are you able to *still* survive uncontroversially after thousands of deletions and AfDs?
- A : A good amount of perseverance and common sense goes a long way.
