editPernoll is the son of Martin L. Pernoll. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and he attended Executive Education at the University of Pennsylvania - Wharton in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Career
editBud Pernoll, CEO and founder of Bay Mutual Financial located in Southern California, is one of the top DC Advisors in the country focused on large and mega retirement plans. In 2010, he was recognized by The 401kWire as one of the Top 10 Most Influential Advisors in Defined Contribution covering plans with more than $75 million. In 2004, after working at both Morgan Stanley and Wachovia Securities (the predecessor to what is now Wells Fargo Advisors), the New Orleans native and his own to create Bay Mutual Financial, a completely independent broker-dealer and RIA. Pernoll serves as CEO and senior managing director of the Santa Monica, California-based firm, which now boasts about 50 plans and assets over $15 billion. Pernoll and his 11-person team offer investment monitoring, participant communication and education, global governance, risk management and fiduciary services, with 90 percent of their work on a flat-fee-based. In addition to DC plans, Pernoll also does some work with non-qualified and defined benefit plans.
Philanthropy and political donations
editPernoll was a major supporter of the Boy's & Girl's Club of America and a former Chairman of the Board of Boy's & Girl's Club of Santa Monica.[1]
