Decade numbering, 0-9 or 1-10? Something of an answer

edit

There has been much contention on Wikipedia, dating back to at least 2008, about whether decades should use the 0-9 definition (and by extension, that the decades should use the "nnn0s" format), or the 1-10 definition (and by extension, the decades should use the "nth decade" format or variations thereof). Generally it seems like consensus currently is with using the 0-9 definition, and the "nnn0s" format in these decade articles. The reason seems to be based on the reasoning that this is the more commonly used format. This means that the decade articles on Wikipedia use the 0-9 definition and the "nnn0s" format. This is also backed up by the Manual of Style. Consensus seems to be against having a standalone article for the 'nth decade' or variations thereof, that would use the 1-10 definition. There have been attempts to move "nnn0s" format decade articles to the "nth decade" format articles, which have demonstrated that significant consensus exists against this type of article. Below are a several discussions on this topic, of varying relevance. I hope that this and the discussions below answer any questions about the format of these articles. If not, visit WT:YEARS, and create a discussion there, and someone should be able to help.
