Makerere University Faculty of Technology is an academic unit at Makerere University, Uganda's oldest university. The faculty offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Economics and Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Surveying.
History
editThe Faculty of Technology was established in July 1970. Before then, technical training was done at the University of Nairobi, Kenya as part of the University of East Africa. At its inception, it offered the three traditional engineering disciplines of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering over a four year course duration. The faculty has since grown to add other departments, Architecture in 1989, Surveying in 1990.
