Reviewing The Article:

The article that I am critiquing entails a brief history of the meaning and origin of information science. Each fact that is referenced is tied back with a reliable source. It also includes hyperlinks to other wikipedia pages of words that may seem confusing seem confusing or incomprehensible.  Although the information and sources seemed reliable many of the references listed under the references section did not allow you to open the webpage. There wasn’t really any distracting topics, the focus was maintained and the subtopics were helpful. They gave insights on potential jobs for those who studied information science and what they did. The article is apparently neutral, as it doesn’t continually boast about information science or degrade it, rather there is a sense of objectivity as it describes what exactly it is in the most basic form. There isn’t really a specific viewpoint on the issue rather it appears unbiased. The links that do work do not show any apparent forms of plagiarism, however I did find a direct quote definition within the article. I do believe that this content could be a form of plagiarism as it is a direct lengthy quote from within a book, describing the definition of information science, which could have simply been paraphrased. Since I believe I found an error within the article I made a comment on the wikipedia talk page about the direct quote, and maybe I can get further detail about why it was added and if it is alright to be used in that sense. Another thing that I saw while reading the article is that there was some basic terminology such as “some people” and “often mistaken” which typically suggest that the article isn’t fairly strong or good. I also noticed that there was a bit-not really noticeable at a first glance but once you read it over there appears to a bit of a negative connotation within the fourth paragraph, this is the only slight form of bias I see within the text. Overall I would say that it is an okay article definitely not one of the best but not one of the worst. It can still be improved as it has a lot of minuscule errors that could be edited. I would also say that some of the information is outdated in a way as it refers to information science as a library science, and suggests that some of the most common jobs are librarians however that is certainly not the case. As information science is rapidly expanding, it is proving to be an interdisciplinary field that involves the aspects of computing technologies and both human interaction the job field is much wider than that of a librarian.
