EDITS TO EARLY LIFE- THorton was also the daughter to a minister which made it easier for her to join the choir and start singing early on.

RECOGNITION- (Elvis presley) did a cover of a famous song of thornton called (hound dog)this version of it did well being a number one hit in 1956 3 years after thornton's version was originally released.
