Mario Gomez, Fashion Designer, Couturier, and Milliner. Born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1964. He began his early training with his mother, the Venezuelan Fashion Designer Elis Gomez, and is part of a 3-generation hat and clothing design family. Through Lolita de Martin, Mario became a Balenciaga apprentice, learning the art of "Haute Couture." During his career he has worked as a fashion designer, fashion illustrator, and fashion columnist. Gomez’ work has been highlighted with many awards like the Cacique de Oro (twice), Mar de Plata, Lauro Textil y de la Moda, Fashion de Oro, International Hispanic Fashion Designer Award, as well as many recognitions from pageants including the Miss Venezuela, Miss Puerto Rico, and Reina de Reinas. He showcases memorable "Haute Couture" collections every year featuring his unique couture abilities and exquisite taste in women’s clothing. Mario participates in fundraising events for humanitarian causes like the Association for Cerebral Palsy, American Cancer Association, Alzheimer's Foundation, and Aids American Association. His main Studio is located in Tampa, Florida, USA where Mario design gowns for brides, quinces, and special events. He writes fashion columns for Stylo magazine, Versatil magazine, and Vocess magazine, and has been invited as a judge for several beauty pageants and special fashion events.
