It's been quite a long ride learning about Wikipedia and in the process learning about my employer (Thank you Wikipedia for explaining terms unfamiliar to me). My employer and I do not discuss this project I do on my own. I am not paid for what I do online. This project is never mentioned in my performance reviews by them or me. I have to find all info online and make sense of it. Getting it on the wiki was with a lot of help from wiki editors. It has been a mixed pleasure to take this ride on Wikipedia, and my respect for Wikipedia and their editors grew tremendously and I tell family, friends, strangers that. I am very visible on social media MarkMillerITPro. It is about my own brand. My employer and I do not discuss what I do on social media. I do share regular tweets about wikipedia because of our family's value of paying it forward. I learned about Twitter by doing Twitter. I learned about IFTTT and can tweet 24/7 because I have an international audience. I'm in my 50's. I need to keep up.

Now I'm thinking maybe I'll look into other articles to edit. I have a history in technology. My https://www.freebase.com/m/010pmbfz . I learned about freebase doing that too. My employer and I never discussed what I did on freebase. I do tweet about freebase. I learned and tweet about wikidata too.

It was a huge eye opener to discover the companies infobox code and instructions. I was chuckling at myself reading Wikipedia's companies infobox link to slogans, learning better the definition, and posting the slogans I had not stopped to pay attention to until typing them.

I was confused about many things during the journey on Wikipedia. I discovered things. I got better at wiki'ng. I pay it forward by tweeting, for instance, about SEO, discovering a Google search for 4INFO now has a few more facts because of using the Wikipedia companies infobox template.

When I worked at Yahoo, my immediate management did not understand social media, my doing social media, and wanted me to stop doing it. imo I was getting my work done. I went to head of Yahoo PR. She looked at what I was doing and gave her ok. My current employer is mum on the subject of what I'm doing online, and I don't ask.

Hmmm. Disney news just came out. I have a lot of knowledge about Disneyland. I'll see if I can offer anything there.

Learned today 10/5/2015 wife has cancer again. Last time was Stage 0 lumpectomy. Hope it's only that again this time. I may not be as responsive or active for a little while. #GetYourMammos
