The company was founded in December, 2003 and is one of the five divisions of the Freedom Financial Network[1], which includes Freedom Debt Relief. Company co-founders and co-CEOs, Andrew Housser and Bradford Stroh, two Stanford Graduate School of Business alumni[2], were named Northern California finalists in Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Awards[3]. The company, based in San Mateo, California, was named one of the best places to work in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times, where it was No. 5 in the "Small Business" category.[4]

The company's managing partner, Jeff Staley heads the tax division of the Freedom Family of companies[5]. Freedom Tax Relief.com is headed by its vice president and active tax attorney, James R. Brown. Brown was licensed to practice law in 1992[6] by the State Bar of California and is licensed to appear before the US Tax Court.

Freedom Tax Relief has handled more than 7,000 cases since its inception[7].
