Steps to move 3D images to appropriate Commons galleries.
- Select a group of images from Wikipedia:3D Illustrations/Review list and sign your name after each one to avoid duplicated efforts.
- Open an image description page and make sure you are viewing the image full size. Right click and save the image to your local computer.
- Go back to the image description page hit edit and copy the image description text and copyright to you clipboard. Add the template {{NowCommonsThis}} to the description and save.
- Log in to Commons and go to upload an image
- Upload the image you saved to your hard drive, using somehting like "3D image moved from Wikipedia (en)" as the edit summary
- Edit the image desription page. Add the original description from the wikipedia description page wikilinking any links or usernames prefaced with and w: ie. w:User:3dnatureguy. Add any relavent categories and the [[Category:Anaglyphs]] category.
- Go to the wikipedia article the the image belongs in and edit to remove the image (if it is still there) and add the {{3d commons}} template.
- Follow the 3d commons link to get to the equivelent commons gallery page. If one does not exist you may have to do some searching to find a relavent one (and update the "3d commons" to point to it - see usage instructions) or create one matching the wikipedia article name.
- Add a thumbnail of the image under a 2nd level heading of ==3D Images==.
- Once you are done moving your selected images move the list of all of the completed ones to the completed section at the bottom of the page.
Notes:
edit- It is probably a good idea to register an account at commons in case anyone needs to contact you about the images.
- Finding relavent commons categories may be a pain, this might be best left for later.
- Skip any image that is not clear which article it should be attached to.
